Ofir Libstein, head of the Shaar HaNegev Regional Council since 2018, tragically lost his life on October 7, along with his eldest son Nitzan, while defending their kibbutz. The news of their fall was profoundly difficult and came as a shock to many people across various segments of the population, both in Israel and globally. Ofir’s unique leadership and unique character showed us what leadership is, especially in Israel’s most difficult time. His actions and effects on the Negev region remain evidence of a different leadership, which remains as a testament to us.
